The Case of Mr.Pelham(1955)

Dir: Alfred Hitchcock

"could a man actually be in one place, doing one thing, and still in his mind be somewhere else, doing something else?"

Mr. Pelham is petrified when he feels that he has a double who is impersonating him. He consults Dr. Harley, a psychologist. He expresses his fear that his double is slowly getting into his shoes, disguising as Mr.Pelham in clubs, offices and banks that he frequents. If this is allowed to continue, one day he himself might cease to exist and the double will be the new Pelham.

The Case of Mr.Pelham is a 25 minute short film which came as an episode in the 268 episode series, Alfred Hitchcock Presents. Aired between 1955-1965, Alfred Hitchcock Presents was a half-an-hour television series produced by Hitchcock. He directed 17 out of the 268 episodes. The case of Mr.Pelham was one of them.

Tom Ewell enacted the role of Mr.Pelham

First aired: 12/4/1955
